With the WNBA season kicking off on Tuesday night, it was a chance for the stars of the league to sport a headline-making outfit. And some stars of the defending champion Las Vegas Aces, including A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young, went bold with their pregame outfits for the season opener.

Hosting the Phoenix Mercury for a 10 p.m. EST tipoff in Las Vegas, Wilson and Young both rocked some leather, but with varying styles.

Wilson went for a suit-like outfit from Louis Vuitton with red leather accents on the blue, almost-denim like material. The candy apply red sunglasses help complete the look.

And Young went with an outfit that was almost evocative of something a biker might wear, donning leather pants and a leather vest with a silver chain necklace to highlight other bits of metal on the outfit. She finished the look with a pair of dark sunglasses, to boot.

Along with Wilson and Young, the Aces video featured a handful of other players, including Chelsea Gray rocking the three-piece green suit and Sydney Colson in the blue-with-brown-accent two-piece pants and jacket combo.

Wilson has a signature shoe in the works with Nike

Wilson is officially getting her own signature shoe with Nike.

The two-time WNBA champion and MVP will be the first Black WNBA player to come out with her own signature shoe since 2010.

The news comes as Wilson prepared to take on the Puerto Rican national team in a preseason exhibition on Saturday at her alma mater, South Carolina‘s Colonial Life Stadium. She came out for warmups with a sweatshirt with the words ‘Of Course I have A Shoe Dot Com,’ which, when looked up, redirects you to Nike’s website with this message:

“You thought we’d sleep on an SEC champion, national champion, #1 draft pick, five-time All-Star, U.S. Olympic gold winner, WNBA Finals MVP, a statue-having, New York Times Best Seller, TIME 100 Most Influential People in 2024, two-time WNBA champion, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, two-time WNBA MVP, and pettiest hooper on the internet? You thought. Of course, A’ja’s got a shoe. A’One A’rriving 2025.”

Wilson has since responded to the news on X.

Nike has also named Wilson to become one of the brand’s signature athletes, which features a who’s who of names in women’s sports such as Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, Naomi Osaka and fellow WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu.

On top of her signature shoe, she is also going to be releasing an entire signature collection in 2025.

“It’s been incredible working with Nike toward a dream of having my collection, and it really is an honor to take this next step and become a Nike signature athlete,” Wilson said in a release, via ESPN. “From my logo to the look of the shoe and the pieces throughout the collection, we’ve worked to make sure every detail is perfectly tuned to my game and style.”

This news comes days after Wilson signed a multi-year deal with Gatorade as well. That’s not all the sponsorships that Wilson has cashed in on over the past year, either as she became the first female athlete to land a partnership with Ruffles and the first WNBA player to sign on with Mountain Dew. Those came after she inked a deal with Nike upon her arrival in the W in 2018. Wilson also recently released her first book, Dear Black Girls.
